Hud-Hud Institute for Social Research and Development organized and hosted an entrepreneurship workshop for female graduates in Mogadishu on the 15th,16th, and 17th of December 2020. This workshop was mainly to enhance the knowledge and open up the eyes of female graduate students so that they don’t have to wait for attractive office jobs, waste their career and talent. Our institute advised these graduates on how it’s possible to start their entrepreneurial ideas and make them work.
The 3-day workshop brought together young female entrepreneurs already in the business who shared valuable lessons and experiences with the graduate students about their entrepreneurial journeys. Also present were established female entrepreneurs that are mothers who achieved their life goals of work-life balance. They revealed to the girls the main obstacles and secrets to being a mother and entrepreneur at the same time and how to overcome them.
The institute also shared low-cost business ideas and their business plans with graduate girls if they are interested and promised them to free more consulting and advising sessions. Our intention is to follow up on them if they can become successful so that we can share their stories with more upcoming female graduates in the future. We will also take great pride as Hud-Hud Institute knowing we took part in their success and development.
